Speaking at the Synergy Global Forum in St Petersburg, reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov offered fight fans his thoughts on a potential rematch against Conor McGregor.

"A lot of businessmen came here and the majority of them will say to me that I should have a fight with him because it is a lot of money!" the Russian said. "I would rather finish other contenders first, and then, if I really need money to develop my agricultural projects, I could beat him. I think if beat him here at Zenit Arena, we would fill all 75-thousand places and I would make a lot of money."

Former interim champion Tony Ferguson is the man in Khabib's sights right now, though.

"He is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters, he has a series of 12 wins." Khabib added. "I will work hard. I will prepare for the toughest fight. I have great expectations, because the opponent is very serious. I need to take him very seriously and train even more."
