Fonseca's Roma Are on the Rise
A resolute Roma answer the early-season question marks.
Two wins from the opening five games of the Serie A season raised a few questions and concerns about Roma.
More than anything, those five games amounted to a settling-in period for new manager Paulo Fonseca, a theory supported by Roma’s past six outings.
The goalless draw with Sampdoria was less than impressive, but three straight wins have pushed Roma into third place on the table, seven points off the top.
In fact, last weekend’s 2-1 win over Napoli might have been the most important of Roma’s season, perhaps providing the steely, fighting edge Fonseca wants:
It is important players understand we can be strong and can be an ambitious team.
Ambition matched with good results usually leads to success.
While there were early questions and concerns about Roma, they are clearly being answered and addressed in the right way.
