Hansi Flick is Bayern Munich's Man
The interim boss is doing more than just keeping the seat warm.
It is generally considered, in keeping with his title of interim manager, Hansi Flick is only keeping the seat warm at Bayern Munich for somebody else.
After being ousted from Tottenham, it is expected Mauricio Pochettino will be the man to take charge at Bayern, either during the winter break or next summer.
Until then, Flick is the man in charge at Bayern and has not done anything to suggest he could not emerge, in his own right, as a worthy candidate.
Bayern midfielder Leon Goretzka has publicly thrown his support behind the Bavarian caretaker boss:
The coach has explained technical elements and explained what he wants from us, and in a short period of time we have fulfilled that on the pitch and this has showed in how we play.
Indeed, Bayern was a perfect four wins from four games after Flick assumed control after the sacking of Niko Kovac.
Those wins should not be a surprise given Flick’s coaching experience includes eight years as an assistant with Joachim Low and the German national team.
A Bayern player during the 1980s, Flick knows the club and the club knows him.
Should Bayern continue winning until the winter break, perhaps Hansi Flick will return for the second half of the season without the interim tag.
